100% Pinot Noir from Alsace, France.
Jean-Pierre Rietsch took control of the family estate in 1987, and continued the low-interventional approach to everything they do for the past seven generations. While Pinot Noir is planted in Alsace, it is mostly used for the sparkling wine production, rarely bottled as still wine.
This version utilized 100% whole-cluster grapes with semi-carbonic maceration (think Beaujolais) and a short aging period in the stainless steel tanks. 'Stierkopf' is an atypical expression of Pinot Noir with tons of freshness and herbaceous flavors.
