100% Chasselas from Alsace, France.
This wine is an homage to the ancestry of the Boxler estate. The founder of the domaine moved to Alsace from Switzerland in 1673, and the operation has continued to be family-owned and scaled back in the face of consolidation and globalization. Chasselas is a Swiss variety, known for producing dry and fruity white wine, and also suitable as table grapes.
The plantings of Chasselas have continued to rapidly disappear in Alsace. Though it is one of the legal varieties within the appellation, Chasselas is rarely seen as a varietal wine, only to be used in the entry-level white blends.
