100% Dolcetto from Piedmont, Italy.
Since the early 20th century, the Viberti family began making wine in La Morra, but they mostly sold their fruits to the neighboring producers. It was in 1987 when Eraldo started bottling the wine under the family name. Known for employing both traditional and modern vinification techniques, Eraldo combines the Piedmontese customary long-maceration time with the contemporary appeal of smaller French barrels. The resulting wine is both nostalgic and current.
Dolcetto, or the little sweet one, might not measure up to the noble Nebbiolo of Barolo, or the popular Barbera, but most of the Piedmontese producers would secretly tell you their hearts belong to Dolcetto.
